Blue and Space Economy Conference
Event detail
Space Economy: India’s space sector, led by ISRO, has evolved from building launch and satellite capabilities to significant achievements like Chandrayaan-3’s lunar south pole landing and solar exploration. Since 2020, IN-SPACe has promoted private sector participation. For over 25 years, Italy and India have collaborated in space, with milestones such as the 2007 launch of Italy’s AGILE satellite by India and recent agreements focusing on Earth observation, space exploration, and heliophysics. Italian firms like Leonardo and Thales Alenia Italia play roles in this partnership, which is also a strategic focus in bilateral discussions between Italian Prime Minister, Meloni and Indian Prime Minister, Modi.
Blue Economy: The blue economy involves sustainable management of maritime resources, vital for economic growth and environmental health. Key issues include overfishing, pollution, climate change, and maritime security threats like piracy. Addressing these challenges requires international cooperation, advanced monitoring technologies, and strong policies to protect ecosystems and ensure sustainable development.
Organized by the Italian Defence General Staff, Navy and Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
