As a traveling symbol of Italian excellence, the Villaggio Italia accompanied the 2023–2025 World Tour, following the Amerigo Vespucci on international stops: Los Angeles, Tokyo, Darwin, Singapore, Mumbai, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Jeddah. Conceived as a space for connection and exchange, the Villaggio Italia promoted Italian culture, art, design, cuisine, innovation, and tourism around the world. It offered visitors, institutions, and businesses an immersive experience with exhibition pavilions and a rich program of events. It was a journey not only across geography but also through culture and emotion—creating genuine connections and strengthening the bond between Italy and international communities.
In 9 Italian cities — Trieste, Venice, Ortona, Brindisi, Taranto, Reggio Calabria, Naples, Civitavecchia, and Genoa — the format was adapted into Villaggio IN Italia: a more compact version designed for the national public. These stops showcased the journey of the Vespucci around the world through stories, content, and testimonies gathered along the route.

The first international stop of Villaggio Italia took place on a 12,000 m² area, with 68 hours open to the public and a schedule featuring over 30 events. The Villaggio Italia hosted the world premiere of "La David", a bronze sculpture by artist Jago created for the Vespucci World Tour. Highlights from the musical program included a lyrical concert by the Accademia of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, live showcooking sessions by Eataly, and a performance by Serena Autieri featuring iconic Italian classics.

During its 44 hours open to the public, Villaggio Italia in Tokyo welcomed thousands of visitors across a 22,500 m² space, brought to life by 40 initiatives spanning culture, entertainment, and creativity. Guests enjoyed the Italia Geniale exhibition, showcasing iconic pieces of Italian design, as well as a display of Olympic Torches organized with the support of CONI. Also highly appreciated were the wines from Piedmont, presented in Japan to celebrate the 10th UNESCO anniversary of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, thanks to Regione Piemonte, the Piemonte Land of Wine Consortium, ICE, and Vinitaly.

5,000 m² of space, 30 hours of programming, and 19 events spanning music, culture, and tradition: Villaggio Italia in Darwin offered a rich schedule filled with emotions, symbols, and shared experiences. The audience witnessed the spectacular parachute jump by the Italian Army Sports Group, who unfurled the Italian and Australian flags in the sky. One of the most moving moments was the encounter at sea between the Training Ship Amerigo Vespucci and the accessible catamaran Spirito di Stella, part of the world tour for the WoW – Wheels on Waves project.

In Singapore, Villaggio Italia became a crossroads of culture, sound, and emotion: 40 hours of programming, 30 events, and 9,050 m² of immersive experiences. In the immersive room, the Giotto Experience captivated visitors with a journey through art, while the exhibition Divina – Immersiva Eccellenza, curated by MASAF, revealed the inner world of wine through microscopic imagery. Among the key institutional moments, Confindustria presented the 12th edition of the report “Exporting the Dolce Vita” and hosted a roundtable with industry associations on the international potential of Italy’s “beautiful and well-made” products.

In a 6,000 m² setting in Mumbai, Villaggio Italia hosted over 20 events during 51 hours of public programming. In the immersive room, visitors explored the works of Italian artist Jago and experienced the Giotto Experience. To mark the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s death (29 November), a tribute concert featuring internationally renowned artists was held. The Blue and Space Economy Conference highlighted the long-standing collaboration between Italy and India in the strategic fields of marine sustainability and space exploration.

In Doha, Villaggio Italia spanned 7,200 m² and hosted over 40 events across 55 hours of programming. Among the highlights, the Garden of Italian Excellence celebrated Mediterranean cuisine, while the Qatar’s Traditional Sword Dance added a touch of local culture. Two masterclasses by Italia Olivicola offered an in-depth journey into the world of olive oil. Notable musical moments included “Navigando sotto le stelle”, conducted by Giovanni Pasini with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and a tribute to the operatic tradition of the Arena di Verona featuring the music of Giuseppe Verdi.

Villaggio Italia in Abu Dhabi came to life across 8,300 m² with 57 hours of programming and 45 events. Music played a central role, with a surprise appearance by renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who moved the audience by performing the Italian National Anthem and “Con te partirò”, the symbolic anthem of the World Tour. Other highlights included masterclasses by Italia Olivicola focused on olive oil and pizza, as well as a Show Cooking session in the Anima Italia space curated by MASAF.

The final international stop of Villaggio Italia took place in Jeddah, featuring 36 events over 46 hours of programming across 7,500 m². Numerous exhibitions showcased Made in Italy, tourism, and major Italian industries, with key participants including Fincantieri, Pirelli, Leonardo, Ferretti Group, Rina, Investindustrial, and Confindustria. On the institutional side, the Blue and Space Economy Conference explored themes of innovation and international cooperation.

The first Italian stop featured the deeply emotional homecoming of the Vespucci, marked by the crew’s heartfelt reunion with their families. To celebrate the occasion, a Special Edition of the Barcolana was held, with 1,333 boats, two flyovers by the Frecce Tricolori, and over 20,000 attendees. The Villaggio IN Italia, set up over a 6,700 m² area, welcomed visitors for a total of 36 hours.

During its 35 hours of public opening, Villaggio IN Italia in Venice brought 12,500 m² to life with a rich program of culture, music, and tradition. One of the most meaningful moments was a special tribute by the City of Venice to the Vespucci: the Greeting from the water, featuring rowing associations, yacht clubs, and traditional Venetian boats. As part of the Generazione Vespucci project, Veronica Maya performed The Tale of Vespucci in the Conference Hall.

The Ortona stop opened with a visit from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who greeted the crew of the Vespucci. Villaggio IN Italia welcomed the public for 23 hours across a 7,000 m² area. Among the initiatives was Generazione Vespucci, featuring Veronica Maya’s musical tale dedicated to children. Enhancing the experience within the Villaggio was a concert by Orchestra Parallela together with I MusicAbili, promoted by the Minister for Disabilities to highlight inclusion and skills development.

During the Vespucci’s stop in Brindisi, Villaggio IN Italia welcomed the public for a total of 35 hours across a 6,250 m² area. The Ship’s arrival was celebrated with the participation of boats from the Italian Naval League and water displays by the BARRETTA tugboats. Among the most striking events were three Flyboard Show performances held in the waters in front of the Vespucci Ship and a tribute to the Amerigo Vespucci by the “Diolovuole Band” at the Virgilian Steps.

In the evocative setting of the Aragonese Castle, Taranto welcomed the Amerigo Vespucci along with Villaggio IN Italia, set up over an area of 4,168 m² and open to the public for a total of 56 hours. During Holy Week, the Vespucci played a central role in the city’s religious rites: its chapel was designated a Jubilee church and hosted the Altar of Repose, a key point along the route of the Carmine confraternity’s traditional procession.

Among the key events was the presentation of the 5th edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, including the announcement of the stages of the sailing tour around Italy. Significant focus was also placed on the impact of new technologies on the lives of people with disabilities, with the panel “Artificial Intelligence, Home Automation, and Digitalization”, curated by the Minister for Disabilities.

Among the most popular activities were visits to the Mare Fuori set, which drew 1,440 registered participants, and a meet-and-greet at the Villaggio with actors from the acclaimed TV series produced by Rai Fiction and Picomedia. During the stop, the Giro d’Italia pink jersey leader, Mads Pedersen, visited the Vespucci, while the race’s mascot also stopped by to greet the Villaggio audience.

In Civitavecchia, Villaggio IN Italia came to life across 12,500 m², with a total of 66 hours open to the public and a rich schedule of events. On the occasion of Republic Day, the Frecce Tricolori flew over and paid tribute to the Ship. Among the most notable moments were a talk with Federico Palmaroli, creator of the satirical page “Le più belle frasi di Osho”, and a gathering of 30 Ferraris from the Club Passione Rossa.

The return of the Vespucci to Genoa marked the final stop of the 2023–2025 World Tour, celebrated on June 10 for Italian Navy Day. In the presence of the President of the Republic, the Italian fleet and Navy F35s paid tribute to the Ship. Villaggio Italia, set up over 12,000 m² with 16 stands, welcomed thousands of visitors with events, performances, and a grand closing evening featuring Serena Autieri, Veronica Maya, the Meravigliosa Orchestra accompanied by the Choir of the Teatro dell'Opera Carlo Felice, and a stunning drone show with 1,750 drones.

Together, the “Villaggi” offered the public a total of 758 hours of opening time and spanned a combined area of 158,768 square meters, welcoming thousands of visitors including citizens, institutions, and representatives from the business world. Each stop was inaugurated with an official ceremony attended by local and international authorities, highlighting the strong institutional significance of the initiative.
Within the “Villaggi”, 409 events took place — including press conferences, talks, artistic performances, concerts, and cultural and film appointments — alongside 37 exhibitions (physical, digital, and immersive), showcased as many as 97 times, and 4 artworks, offering a rich program of activities. Alongside the on-land activities, the Vespucci generated great enthusiasm, welcoming 936,089 visitors and embodying a deep connection between the public and one of the most iconic symbols of Italy’s naval heritage.
