On the occasion of the Amerigo Vespucci Ship’s Mediterranean Tour, on May 6th and 7th you will have the opportunity to visit the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria at a reduced rate, by booking your ticket on our website while availability lasts.
The MArRC is one of the most prestigious archaeological museums in Italy. Spread across four levels, it features 220 display cases that narrate the millennia-old history of Magna Graecia. The heart of the museum is the room dedicated to the famous Riace Bronzes—two bronze statues from the 5th century BC, discovered in 1972 off the coast of Riace Marina. Icons of Greek art, they are renowned for their anatomical realism, expressive power, and refined detail.
Alongside them, you can admire other masterpieces such as the Head of the Philosopher, the Basel Head, and a remarkable collection of artifacts, including the oldest evidence of human presence in Italy. The museum also preserves traces of Homo erectus dating back nearly one million years.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with ancient history.
