ACCESSIBILITY ONBOARD VESPUCCI SHIP

People with disabilities must register individually, optionally indicating the presence of a companion, who must also register. We would like to inform you that, due to the structural features of the ship, designed in an era when specific accessibility measures were not considered, there may be limitations for people with mobility impairments. In particular, the ship has architectural barriers that make it impossible to install ramps for wheelchair access. Therefore, for technical and safety reasons, access cannot generally be guaranteed for people with walking difficulties who require aids such as wheelchairs. The crew of Amerigo Vespucci Ship and the staff of Villaggio IN Italia are fully committed to providing all visitors with a welcoming and inclusive experience. We are aware of the importance of ensuring the best possible experience for all visitors, and, in line with the structural conditions of the ship, we will assess each specific case on-site.

"IL VESPUCCI INCONTRA LA CULTURA"
REGGIO CALABRIA

The project “Il Vespucci incontra la cultura”, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Difesa Servizi S.p.A., offers a unique opportunity to explore national museums and cultural sites in the cities visited by the Training Ship Amerigo Vespucci, with a special discount on admission tickets during its stay. This initiative represents a model of collaboration between institutions aimed at enhancing and promoting Italy’s museum heritage, in synergy with the Amerigo Vespucci Mediterranean Tour, an ambassador of Made in Italy around the world. REGGIO CALABRIA MAY 6-7, 2025 The dates of Vespucci’s stay may not entirely coincide with the opening days of the participating museums. You will receive a QR Code via email to present at the museum ticket office in order to obtain the reduced admission rate. Each registration allows entry for up to 4 people. Important: The ticket does NOT include a visit on board the Vespucci Ship. MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO NAZIONALE DI REGGIO CALABRIA The MArRC is one of the most important archaeological museums in Italy. Spread over four floors, it features 220 display cases that tell the thousand-year history of Magna Graecia. At the heart of the museum is the gallery dedicated to the famous Riace Bronzes: two 5th-century BC bronze statues discovered off the coast of Riace Marina in 1972. These icons of Greek art are remarkable for their anatomical realism, expressive intensity, and refined details. Alongside them, you can admire other masterpieces such as the Head of the Philosopher, the Head of Basel, and an extraordinary collection of artifacts—including the oldest evidence of human presence in Italy. The museum preserves traces of Homo erectus dating back approximately one million years.
