THE ITALY PAVILION AT EXPO 2025 OSAKA
The Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, designed by architect Mario Cucinella, MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects – is a modern interpretation of the Ideal City of the Renaissance with its theatre, square and garden as elements of Italy’s urban and social identity and of the exhibition.
‘Art regenerates Life’ is the theme of the Italy Pavilion. ‘Art’ here is understood in a very broad sense. It is the emotional and rational drive that projects us from the past into the future, a blend of ingenuity and industry that lies at the core of the ‘Italian know-how’ that has made us famous around the world.
For the first time in the history of Universal Exhibitions, Italy is also hosting the Holy See Pavilion.
Italy, the European leader in high craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing, brings the excellence of its Regions to Expo 2025, with the aim of consolidating exports and the network of international partnerships.
Expanding technological cooperation and interchange, making our start-ups and research known: these are some of Italy’s goals at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Not by chance, aerospace, sea, life sciences and high technology are some of the great themes of this immersive and multisensory experience that is offered to the visitor.
At the Italy Pavilion, tradition and innovation intertwine and become an active part of the exhibition spaces, whose sections are dedicated to people, society and Regions.
Reflecting the infinite cultural richness that characterises the Italian way of life, a permanent exhibition, temporary events and live performances enrich the Italian Pavilion every day. The Italian lifestyle is also showcased through a spacious restaurant dedicated to the excellence of Italian food and wine, which overlooks the Italian-style garden on the roof of the Pavilion.
The garden is visible from the Grand Ring, the extraordinary emblem of Expo 2025 Osaka, and it is also a symbol of the historic cultural relationship between Italy and Japan, with evocative references featured throughout the exhibition.
