In the magnificent setting of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, and in the presence of institutional representatives, the incredible results of the initiative ‘Vespucci World Tour and Villaggio Italia 2023-2025’ were presented.
ITALIA GENIALE EXHIBITION
PROFILE OF THE EXCELLENCE
The exhibition “Italia Geniale”, promoted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, showcases to the world the inventive ability, creativity and design excellence that define Made in Italy. It does so through 82 products, divided into five categories, which embody the genius, design and innovation of Italian craftsmanship. Each of them is inspired by a single ideal: enabling people to “be human.” The project was realised in collaboration with the Association for Industrial Design, which, as scientific curator, selected historical and contemporary products and patents, some of which have been honoured with the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award.
The interpretative framework is guided by design, a discipline that constantly strives for innovation by uniting function and beauty. The exhibition therefore aims to go beyond the concept of the user as a simple consumer of artefacts, and instead to place them at the centre of every creative activity — a “person” who, through design, expresses talent, skill and potential. The concept of the “person” thus becomes the driving force of the narrative. These abilities converge in five categories: moving freely and safely (move-able), caring for oneself and others (live-able), creating the conditions for imagination (imagine-able), fostering relationships with other living beings and artefacts (relation-able), and working with dedication (work-able).
THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGGI ITALIA AND VILLAGGI IN ITALIA
At the Villaggi Italia abroad and at the Villaggio IN Italia in Genoa, visitors had the opportunity to admire the exhibition and come into contact with some of the most iconic objects of Italian design, such as the Vespa Elettrica, the Campari Soda bottle, the evolution of the Eni logo, the historic Moka, the theatrical Nemo armchair, the Valentine portable typewriter, and many other symbols of Italian creativity and craftsmanship.
