After the stop in Tokyo, the Vespucci ship sailed nearly 2,000 miles over 15 days. On board were the First-Year Cadets of the Naval Academy of Livorno, engaged in their training.
MILITARY BAND OF THE CARABINIERI LEGION CADET
The Military Band of the Carabinieri Cadet Legion performs at the Villaggio Italia at the Port of Los Angeles.
The current Military Band performs institutional representative duties and gives concerts in various cities and theaters in Italy and abroad. It takes part in important national music festivals such as the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, La Bacchetta, Band Competition in Fiuggi and the International Band Composition Competition in Corciano. The repertoire of the Band ranges from ceremonial to lyrical- symphonic. In addition, the Band has a broad educational function, performing educational concerts for schools (delving into historical music) and collaborating constantly with conservatories in Rome and other cities.
The musical ensemble also boasts a number of partnerships with musical bands from other countries, such as the Military Band of the Koninklijke Marechaussee of the Netherlands and the Armed Forces Band of Romania. Currently, the Military Band may include up to 45 military musicians from Italian conservatories.
Since August 1997, it has been conducted by maestro Lgt. Danilo di Silvestro.
The Military Band of the Carabinieri Cadet Legion of Rome will be performing on:
- July 3, 2024 – 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. at Beverly Gardens Park
- July 5, 2024 – 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Ovation Hollywood Shopping Center
- July 7, 2024 – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Santa Monica Pier West End”
