Fondazione Casa Stradivari
PROFILE OF THE EXCELLENCE
The Fondazione Casa Stradivari was established in Cremona with the aim of bringing new life and voice to the historic home where Antonio Stradivari once lived and worked, rekindling the dialogue between craftsmanship, music, and education that made the city the very heart of the world’s violin-making tradition.
Inaugurated in 2023, the Foundation today serves as a centre for training, research, and creativity, dedicated to the transmission of violin-making knowledge and to nurturing the growth of young artisans and musicians from around the globe.
Within its walls, courses, masterclasses, and artistic residencies are held to foster exchange between master luthiers and performers, uniting tradition and innovation in the crafting and study of string instruments.
It is in this symbolic place that the legacy of Antonio Stradivari lives on — universally recognised as the greatest luthier of all time. Born in Cremona in 1644, he transformed the construction of the violin into a supreme form of art, blending beauty, precision, and acoustic perfection. His hands gave life to more than a thousand instruments, including some of the most celebrated violins in the world, capable of producing a unique and unmistakable sound — among them the renowned “The Angel – ex Madrileno” (1720), one of the masterpieces of his golden period.
THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGGI ITALIA AND VILLAGGI IN ITALIA
At the Villaggio Italia in Jeddah, the legacy of Antonio Stradivari came to life in an exclusive concert dedicated to The Secrets of Stradivari — a musical journey led by Maestro Fabrizio von Arx on violin and pianist Antonio Valentino.
Through the music of Corelli, Vivaldi, Bach, Paganini, Chopin, Respighi, and Sarasate, the audience experienced not only the evocative power of classical music but also the extraordinary harmony between art and craftsmanship that defines the Italian violin-making tradition. The true protagonist of the evening was the Stradivari “The Angel” (1720) itself, whose clear and vibrant tone enveloped listeners in an atmosphere of pure emotion.
It was a unique experience, paying homage to the genius of Antonio Stradivari — a timeless symbol of Italian excellence — and to the tireless work of those, like Fabrizio von Arx, who continue to preserve and renew his enduring legacy.
