PROFILE OF THE EXCELLENCE
The Fondazione Festival Pucciniano was established in 1990 by the Municipality of Viareggio with the aim of promoting, enhancing, and disseminating throughout the world the works of Giacomo Puccini, one of the greatest Italian composers of all time. Based in Torre del Lago, in the very places where the Maestro lived and composed many of his masterpieces, the Foundation organises the celebrated Puccini Festival each year — one of the most prestigious opera events on the international stage. In addition to staging operas, concerts, and tours, the Foundation is actively engaged in musical training for young people, as well as in research and study on Puccini’s oeuvre, and in the preservation of the artistic and cultural heritage associated with his life and work.
An institution that unites tradition and innovation, the Foundation carries the excellence of Italian music and opera theatre across the world.
THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGGI ITALIA AND VILLAGGI IN ITALIA
At the Villaggio Italia in Jeddah, audiences attended an unforgettable opera concert featuring artists from the Fondazione Festival Pucciniano. On stage performed a soprano, a tenor, a pianist, and a harp soloist, accompanied by the Ensemble 100 of the Puccini Festival Orchestra, made up of eleven musicians including a wind quintet, string quintet, and piano.
This extraordinary event celebrated the tradition and excellence of Italian opera, bringing to the world the timeless charm of Puccini’s masterpieces and the artistry of the musicians who continue to keep his magic alive.
