Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy
PROFILE OF THE EXCELLENCE
The Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy is the project through which Maestro Riccardo Muti shares with young conductors from around the world the tradition and depth of Italian opera.
Through open rehearsals and lecture-concerts, the Academy offers a unique educational journey that guides students from the first reading of the score to the final performance, revealing the discipline, passion, and meticulous artistry that animate the Verdian repertoire.
Founded with the aim of preserving a body of knowledge at risk of being lost, the Academy combines training, outreach, and audience engagement, keeping alive the authenticity of Italian opera.
Over the years, the Academy has also taken its teaching abroad, with editions in Seoul, Tokyo and Suzhou, spreading the excellence of Italian musical culture around the world.
THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGGI ITALIA AND VILLAGGI IN ITALIA
At the Villaggio Italia in Tokyo, the excellence of the Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy was celebrated with a string quartet concert performed by musicians from the Academy.
The event sought to promote the teaching and appreciation of Italian opera worldwide, reaffirming the Academy’s mission: to pass on to new generations the depth and rigour of Italy’s great musical tradition.
