JAGO

PROFILE OF THE EXCELLENCE

Jago is an Italian sculptor whose art is rooted in the classical techniques of tradition.
While working with noble materials such as marble, he addresses contemporary themes, reflecting on the present and on the human condition. Through videos and social media, he directly engages his audience, sharing every stage of his creative process and turning each artwork into an open, participatory experience. Jago also holds a truly unique record: he is the first artist ever to send a marble sculpture to the International Space Station. This happened in 2019, during the Beyond mission of the European Space Agency (ESA).
The work, titled The First Baby and depicting a foetus, returned to Earth in February 2020 under the care of Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano, the mission commander.

THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGGI ITALIA AND VILLAGGI IN ITALIA

The collaboration between Jago and the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour 2023–2025 began in Los Angeles, with the unveiling of his sculpture “David” — a modern reinterpretation of the myth of David and Goliath, expressing courage, strength and the spirit of resilience. From that moment, Jago’s works and artistic vision have accompanied the ship throughout most of the Villaggi Italia stops, both in Italy and abroad. Across the tour, the artist met audiences, sharing insights into his creative process and revealing the inspiration behind his sculptures. A particularly meaningful moment took place in Naples, where Jago opened the doors of his artistic hub, offering visitors an exclusive experience of discovery and dialogue. His art was also featured in a special exhibition within the Immersive Room.

Among the works exhibited at various Villaggi were:

David (Los Angeles, Tokyo, Darwin, Singapore, Mumbai, Trieste, Napoli, Genova)

Circulatory System (Jeddah)

Memory (Jeddah)

Family (Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah)

Future (Abu Dhabi)
